DIY How to ID VIN year (all countries)
New car? I got scammed.....so here's the European 370Z system obtained after effort...and concealment by Nissan....Warranty? A cover-up.
My "2010 manufactured" contract and registration was actually an old 2009 ...finally admitted By Nissan in February 2012, with no apology. Magnusson.Moss? Not here! But Nissan's attitude got me going: hard detective work. The chassis number JN1GAAZ34U0100783 (mine, European). The second "1" shows the year (2009) (sold and registered as made in 2010 by Nissan/dealer!) If the one is a "2" that would be 2010 ...and so on. Whether that's model year or the year of manufacture, I dunno. Maybe some-one can help with the month. May 2009 in my case above. After Nissan storage for 15 months there were obvious problems...warranty? Like fun. and the steering lock dumped me...(more Nissan b/s)..and the car was to wrong emissions spec! All hidden by Nissan since signing for a letter on 5 Jan 2011 and repeatedly ignoring it. Hope it does not happen to you....so how about Chassis IDs for Japan, UK, USA and anywhere else! Fritz |
Did you get this VIN off your car?

I must have read this like 10 times. I don't get it. Mines a 2011 but reads a 2 in the vin sooooo your saying I got scammed. I like my car and really don’t care when they made it. What if made in December of 2010 but shipped 2011 to the United States. Explain that? Or give more info. Seems bogus detective work to me.

Per the vin decoding mine adds up to what I bought and what Nissan sold me. |
