I used the oven method. I didnt have a heat gun in handy.

I personally think it is easier to take off the lense with a oven because it heats everything all at once instead of one spot at a time.

however, you want to take off as much glue as you can to help make it possible to put the lense back together, and a heat gun would have been a huge help in this part. the glue, when cold, is very hard and gummy.

I opted not to do LED's though.

I got the paint from automotivetouchup.com . I told them color K51, and they sent me a can of that stuff. (spray can). I also ordered the clear coat so the sun and heat wouldn't ruin the paint.

It took me about 8 hours to do the entire thing. (from pulling car into garage, to getting the bumper back on.)

Thanks for the info. I have clear bra on my headlights and am not sure which method will be safer to avoid damaging the film.

Nice tail lights, what did you do to them? Did you powder coat your rimz?

yeah its not has hard as it seems, just very time consuming, have a whole weekend open!

Caravanshaka you are awesome. Man ur DIY rocks......Followed everything you did right from ordering LED to my trip to Radioshack. Hats off to you Boss.

I did not blackout though. I am thinking about spacing out the rims.

where i come from, every tom **** & harry has bought a set of LEDs for his/her corolla, civic and hilux. its great work! but if i did that here, that would be so uncool.

I wonder if....you installed high power IR LED's would your headlights turn into Laser Jammers? hmmmm

Can someone in Houston do this for me? Lol I don't have the guts, and will probably break all kinds of things.

Looks nice, we've been doing LED headlight mods for s2000 / NSX owners for quite some time now.

Any issues with LED contact failure rates? We've found over time the individual LED's tend to have problems....
