REQUEST: Side marker

I was wondering if anyone know what kind of light bulb is in the right & left side markers?

i was wondering if someone had already taken them out

Some owners in Japan already pulled apart the side makers for use in their 350Z. IIRC, there were 2-4 amber SuperFlux LEDs (square with 4 legs). You may have to destroy the side markers just to get to the LEDs. Hence, I never got around to even trying.

Actually, I just got my Z back out of the shop a few weeks ago ... I got in a small accident and they had to replace my hood, fender and front bumper. They removed the sidemarker and put it back on the new fender.. I wanted to change my bulbs but I never got around to asking them which size bulbs were in there so I could order it. Its most definitely able to be changed and you won't destroy the Side Markers if you want to remove them. I could call my shop and ask them how to remove them if you guys want more info? I'll call anyways and post up once I find out. Hope this helps ...

it doesn't take bulbs.... it has about 6 leds....i tore one apart and replace one of the leds for practice...my buddy has a soldering kit and he was teaching me. it turned out pretty good but the reason i haven't swaped it is because when you heat to take of the front to get to the leds you end up disfiguring the edges... it takes 4 pin leds and the only place i fount them so far is at radio shack and their $3 a piece....

The 4-PIN LEDs are called SuperFlux (a.k.a, spider or piranha). So you had to heat the seals to remove the cover? I was going to change them to white, but decided to leave it amber since my LED signals will be amber as well. However, I wanted to squeeze in a dim white LED for it to glow at night.

yea.... i just took a blow dryer to it and let it sit on the counter blowing hot air...but when u get it hot enough to pull it open the edges get somewhat soft and you end up disfiguring it.
