I had the same thing happen. You could try a dremmel and cut the nuts off. Or, if you can get a drill with a 10mm socket up there (I was able to do this even with the Berk muffler in place) and just spin the nut until the plastic melts. Don't give up!! What is with the Japanese and loctite?
