where did u find the stock harnes?

the extra wire plug is connected to the parking lights its between bumpper and the back trunk frame its really hard to get but i got the plug and tried to connect the fog light and the plug was too small but tom. i goin to the dealership to see if they have like a apadter somethin like that. i will post pics after i get it fixed!

My car came with the stock wiring harness for the foglight. I have a sports touring model in case it matters.

However, the other end of the wires from the plug I found, is connected to nothing since My car didnt come with the "Fog light switch".

What I did was: plugged in the harness into the fog light. Then took the trunk panels (inside) off so that I could see the frame, which exposed a couple wiring harnesses. The light orange wire is the one that went to the fog light plug, and the green wire (i think, im not remembering very well) went to turn on the taillights when the brake is presssed. So I spliced those wires together, and that was it.

Now my fog light turns on everytime i hit the brakes.

My dummy lamp's nut was completely threadlocked and NO WAY to unthread it.

Took my rotary tool with the metal cutting disc and just cut the nut straight down.

If anyone runs into this problem, just cut it. :p

I used aluminum tape for holding the harness inside the bumper. Not sure if this helps anyone, but here it is...

I don't understand why the fck there is locktight on that damn stud.. I'd like to find the Nissan engineer that thought that was a good idea and kick him square in the nutz. :mad:

I ended up putting a set of vice grips around that nut and busting the stud free from the old housing.. what a pain.. I should have busted out the Dremel. Nice job..

yah, whoever designed that housing should be shot. :shakes head:
there is absoutely no reason why the bolt needs to be
on the housing side. they can use a regular large tapping
screw and just screw the housing down from the outside.

I found out a trick to get it off easily without cutting anything...

get a drill, with the correct bit over the nut, and put the drill on the highest speed, and let it spin.

the plastic will get hot that holds the stud to the foglight. this makes the stud get very hot and melt the locktite. the nut will eventually just spin right off when it melts.

took me 2 minutes for the entire ordeal.

That's good to note. Just ordered my fog lamp the other day so I'll probably end up doing it that way as well. :tup:

That's IF you can get a drill in there... I thought of the drill idea, but didn't want to risk damaging my dewalt universal just for that. :p

I tried a heat gun before I cut the nut as well and it didn't do much. The black bracket was extremely hot and since I was going to reuse it I didn't want to deform it.
So just cut the nut. it took about 5min each.

Damage a bit? Its a nut, nothing the bit isnt made for. When u take off the bracket to access the foglight, the bumper can be pushed upwards a few inches to get a drill in there

What is the bulb size that comes with the fog light? I want to change it out for a brighter LED bulb.

but the lamp is pretty damn bright as it is...
