Hmmm interesting,
Simota1 , so what is the hot wire color of the brake lights?? I assume the folowing:

- Red = Tail (?)
- Green = Brakes (?)
- Orange = Reverse (Yes, confirmed by Simota1)
- White = Turn signals (?)
- Black = Ground

Also,
what is the part number of the Relay you used??

Thanks man... great post!

^^ thats what im going to do when I get my car.
I want it to turn on whenever I hit the brakes, too many "My 370z got rear ended!" threads around here!!

if anybody knows where I can get that rear fog light switch that the JDM fairlady's have, I would greatly appriciate it!

Hi,
I think I have figured out how to create the following, using bits and pieces of information from this post and other sites:

When I am done with my installation I will get:

- Low intensity fog light (as I have the Canadian model, I am lucky to have the switch on the steering column. But the fog light is very bright so I have to lower the intensity to enable the third light braking option). For American models, you will have to either wire it to the low intensity tail lights (turns on with the tail lights), or add a switch somewhere to turn it on manually.

- When I brake, the fog light will be flashing quickly 6 times (high intensity), then finally stay on (high intensity as for the brake lights)

- There is a delay so the flashing only occurs once. It will occur again if I don't touch the brakes for more than 8 sec. This is to avoid flashing all the time in heavy traffic for example.

- I believe that my planned setup will give me the option to later add the “reverse flashing” option as mentioned in this post. I just need more info about the relay used and where to by it. If I get it on time I will also add this feature.

Yesterday, I have ordered all the parts necessary to make it happen. I should be installing this very soon and see if I am successful...

Also, I still requirer information about the wire colors.. (see above), please help!

Hi all, I'm going to go ahead and ask a stupid question here about the install. I recently got mine and just yesterday had the time to drop it in. Now the original black housing has wires and a gray plastic cap to that wiring that I left on. What do I do with that stuff and what do I do with the gray plastic part at the end of the wiring on my new lamp. For now I just installed the piece physically without attaching the wires. I seem to be lost from step 2 to after. Thanks and sorry for the idiotic question. Im a bit new at this.

no problem man.. since u got it installed u have to just wire up the fog lamp... the gray peice on the black housing is im guessing for a real harness on the jdm models... but since we dont have that... u have to hard wire it to ur tail light harness....

BTW everyone i am sooooo sorry yes yes i know the wire color thing... ive been soooo slammed i cant take apart my taillights in time cuz im sooo tired i will get that hot wire color for the brake signal to all of u... soon i had a chance to do it once but my test light was broke... so i put back my panels thinking i wouldnt have to take it out again cuz i sealed them but low and behold.. the right one still leaks and moisture is in there.. i am sooo irritated by the freakin moisture... and its such a pain in the *** to take out the panels... will get it here hopefully tonight cuz im free sort of im just taking a break from work...

You have moisture in your tail? Couldn't possibly be from this mod, this is all external, correct? What caused that?

I'm a new 370Z owner (had it about 2 months) and am interested in installing the fog lamp with the module from flashingbrakelights.com . If anyone has done this, I'd really appreciate some instructions on how to hook up the wiring. A diagram would be great but pictures would be better.
Thanks
