Hi all, I'm going to go ahead and ask a stupid question here about the install. I recently got mine and just yesterday had the time to drop it in. Now the original black housing has wires and a gray plastic cap to that wiring that I left on. What do I do with that stuff and what do I do with the gray plastic part at the end of the wiring on my new lamp. For now I just installed the piece physically without attaching the wires. I seem to be lost from step 2 to after. Thanks and sorry for the idiotic question. Im a bit new at this.

no problem man.. since u got it installed u have to just wire up the fog lamp... the gray peice on the black housing is im guessing for a real harness on the jdm models... but since we dont have that... u have to hard wire it to ur tail light harness....

BTW everyone i am sooooo sorry yes yes i know the wire color thing... ive been soooo slammed i cant take apart my taillights in time cuz im sooo tired i will get that hot wire color for the brake signal to all of u... soon i had a chance to do it once but my test light was broke... so i put back my panels thinking i wouldnt have to take it out again cuz i sealed them but low and behold.. the right one still leaks and moisture is in there.. i am sooo irritated by the freakin moisture... :shakes head: and its such a pain in the *** to take out the panels... :shakes head: will get it here hopefully tonight cuz im free sort of im just taking a break from work...

You have moisture in your tail? Couldn't possibly be from this mod, this is all external, correct? What caused that?

I'm a new 370Z owner (had it about 2 months) and am interested in installing the fog lamp with the module from flashingbrakelights.com . If anyone has done this, I'd really appreciate some instructions on how to hook up the wiring. A diagram would be great but pictures would be better.
Thanks

I am working on it! I'll let you know if I'm successful. I have very few information about the wire colors so, so far, I only managed to burn the relay :( Ha ha ha! (Oh well, got to bring it to the dealer today...)

Hi,
I've sucessfuly finished the flashing brake light mod.

Some info:

- Red = Tail (Yes, confirmed by me)
- Green = Brakes (Yes, confirmed by me)
- Orange = Reverse (Yes, confirmed by Simota1)
- White = Turn signals (?)
- Black = Ground (You will also find a ground bolt not far from the tail light inside the trunk)

You need to tap into the tail lights (see color chart above), install a flashing module and manage to install a socket that supports a dual wire bulb (7443). The 7443 socket does not fit exactly as for the original 7440 socket (sigle wire) so you need to make some adjustments in order for it to become waterproof. In my case, I used an additional rubber ring and fixed it in place with a tie-rap.

On thing though, the flashing module from flashingbrakelights.com behaves in a strange way on my setup. If the car is not started, it will flash and reset after 8 sec (normal behaviour). If the car is running, it wil not completely reset until you haven't touched the brakes for about 45sec. Very strange and I can't explain it! After 15 sec, it will flash once or twice. After 30 sec, it will flash 3-4 times. After 45 sec it will flash 4 or 5 times. I have tested it with LED and regular bulbs... the same. So if you have an idea why, I would like to hear it!

Simota,

I was wondering if you knew how to wire the fog lamp kit so that I can just turn it on/off with a switch. (I purchased a touring package heated seat switch to use for this)

I'm a noob at this. Would I need more wiring, parts, etc or would the fog lamp and seat switch be enough?

sup man... naw that heated switch is good enough... all u need is long wires... tap a acc wire... so when u switch on ur car ther is power in that wire.... run it to the switch and run it back to the fog lamp.... connect that wire to the red wire of the fog and jus ground the other black wire... and ur done
