DIY 370z Emblem Removal
Hi Guys, I've been surfing the forum for a little bit now, and realized there was no DIY for this, at least that I could find, so I figured I would post one since I just finished doing this earlier today. Not really a big deal, but I figured it may help someone that's scared to try it.
Here are the tools I used - a flathead I had to pad with the sock to get some of the stubborn stickiness off. http://i.imgur.com/t5LYbl.jpg I started of by trying to let some Goo Gone soak down behind the emblem...I didn't apply a whole lot here, so I'm not sure exactly how effective this was... http://i.imgur.com/nnyZnl.jpg Then I got some floss... http://i.imgur.com/JVbthl.jpg and started Flossin' on 'em...:icon17: http://i.imgur.com/zVzrtl.jpg this is just the glue/tape/sticky stuff that was leftover... http://i.imgur.com/6IyHEl.jpg Removing the glue/tape/sticky stuff with sock and Goo Gone Edit: I did have to use a flathead screwdriver, buffered by a sock with Goo Gone on it to gently scrape some of the more stubborn glue off here. At this point, my girlfriend who took the flossing pic, was laid out tanning, so I couldn't get a pic of this, sorry. http://i.imgur.com/eSvLpl.jpg almost there... http://i.imgur.com/UJnLBl.jpg Finished product http://i.imgur.com/jPrlWl.jpg but up close, I have the "Reverse PW Ghost 370z" emblem...I kinda like it, but am hoping it will go away after having some time to bake in the sun http://i.imgur.com/jRfTbl.jpg now to find somewhere for this... http://i.imgur.com/nkPeSl.jpg and since I gave her a bath while doing this, one more... http://i.imgur.com/7FvQ2l.jpg I hope someone finds this useful in their quest to make their Z their own. |

Just added this because I thought it was a cool shot that my gf took while she was tanning... |
Getting ready to swap mine out for black chrome in the next couple of days.
Oh, I didn't see any pics of tanning girlfriend. 'sup with that? :icon17: |

Looks great. I always remove badging on my vehicles. Most of my customers want them removed as well. You need to polish the area now. If the badging has been on the car for several years, wet sanding is usually needed. This should only be dome by a professional.

Thanks NXTAZEE, I always do the same thing, just looks much cleaner IMO. I would like to have the burgers shaved too, but I'll probably put cash towards many other mods before this one.
It's been on there since the first owner bought it from the dealer I suppose. I just picked the car up in early April of this year. I was going to try applying some Nu-Finish to the area today to see if it helped any. If not, I worked at a few car washes along the "come-up" haha, and still have friends in the detailing game that I can get in touch with to help me out. |

Thanks for the tip! I'll see if I can find a local place this week.
It's crazy, I drove from Athens down 316E to 285W to Vinings, Ga, then to Powder Springs, Ga yesterday, then back up I-20 to 285E to 85N all the way to Jefferson, Ga, and down 129 back into Athens. Never saw another 370 on the road anywhere  I did see an STi...next to me for a few seconds, before he was behind me... |

Instead of using a screw driver and sock which could lead to damage to the paint; I would recommend baking the remaining residue under the sun and just rub it fingers.

Both are better methods of removing the glue/double sided tape. I was very, very, very careful when doing this and luckily I caused no damage. |
where to reattach this emblem suitable

Thanks for the DIY. I pulled by front burger today and used a 350 version with some carbon fiber. I still don't love it but its better then the stock version.
