On another note Morimoto and TRS came through! Me being the super soldier that I am called them to place my order, online store said the lenses were not in stock. Called and they were in stock, so if you order from TRS call them if what you need is not available online. Also the Morimote Halos are extremely durable, I test fitted them like 15 times. Still rocking! I started with black gloss krylon fusion, and absolutely hated it. So I striped it back down and went to vatozone and picked up a can of wheel paint color I liked, hope it holds, seems to be doing good so far but will find out when assembled and tested in the heat. Also the paint cap for krylon fusin makes a good mounting stand when gooping the halo and lens to the shroud, I also used a heavy but fitting socket to put a little pressure on it. Heres pics from todays work. PS auto goop is fun and messy, easy clean up |

My last guess is that the resin covering the halos have a large amount of bromine in the resin, a chemical used to prevent the halo from catching fire. Bromine is naturally brown. When bromine is exposed to UV light for an extended period of time, both natural and man made, it breaks down the molecules to seek out oxygen. (oxidation happens). I can not justify paying $100 more for a set of halos that could quite possibly do the same thing. TRS will honor their warranty and you will be fine |

They're hooked up to a switch but I turn them on whenever I drive. I've felt them before after being on for a bit, they don't really get that hot. I wiped them down but didn't scrub them with anything. I ha e two friends tunning the same exact sets and theirs haven't turned this color, although they don't get as much drive time as mine. I'll give them a call and see what they say about the warranty. Thanks for the advice bud!

I am liking the ways these are turning out! I am not halfway to the halfway point.
These goodies came in today. Time to start the wiring setup FYI when I do test fitting for LED, Halos and lenses I used Scotts clear shipping tape before gluing, figured if anybody wanted to know an easy way to hold something to make sure it looks right before gluing just use the clear shipping tape, that way you can pin point any adjustments you need to make. You guys probably already knew this but this is for those who don't. Last edited by 370zHawaii; 11-05-2014 at 07:40 PM. |

Nice job man! I wish they had those white halos when I did mine. I wouldn't have used a diffuser.

Testing wires and lights after cooking, think I might cook again, I want these babies to be sealed tight.
so far so good, still waiting on switches, I am going to have a switch for top halos and a switch for bottoms, and a switch for top demon eyes and bottoms. I know its a bit much but I want to mix it up |

Looks good man! just a thought, and I'm not sure it's just the camera phone pics but a little clear coat, some wet sanding and polishing would really make the red on the projector shrouds pop!

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I'm looking to do this soon and I have a few questions.
What sealant/glue would be best suited if the lights need to be opened again after I close them? I've heard some sealants do not loosen up with heat the same way OEM does. Which halos have proven most reliable if correctly installed? Which halos are easiest to install? ( saw issues with tabs and wire connections etc) I'd like to avoid the lime green or yellow rings when the lights are off. Any suggestions on halos? Thanks in advance. |

You're the man as usual! I got ahold of them and got new ones, they said that they burn out from the heat of the sun. Causes them to desolder and detatch from the board.

Sad day,
I was doing a set of lights for a Civic thats being showed at SEMA and the heat gun that started a revelation back when this thread first started just died. Wagner is dead !!!! He was a solid reliable heat gun all the way until his last breath.. R.I.P. Wagner I feel like i should bury it or something!
