The way you done it looks like you left some of the plastic blinker cover. I do not think the smaller will fit/fill the housing as well as the larger

I do not think the smaller will fit/fill the housing as well as the larger size. Mine fit flush with the housing so no need to trim the factory blinker cover and it looks way better than that.
