Digression... Has anyone tried/thought about hydrographics? Curious as to how they would hold up, especially on the projector housing. Edit: nm, saw one of the previous posts. Looks suhweet! Last edited by djtodd; 06-06-2013 at 12:52 PM. |

djtodd: I checked on prices a wile back and the cost was too much for me, but I was asking for CF look and some custom stuff. Strait color may cost less.

Well, since the tube is Butyl Rubber, the same material that was used by the manufacturer, but in semi-liquid form which makes resealing easier by skipping the re-heating step. That's my 2 cents logic.

3m Vinyl http://www.ebay.com/bhp/3m-carbon-fiber-vinyl
I wouldn't use the 3M DiNoc. After warming a few times it gets stiff and none pliable.

Fitment mod
As you know, the new morimoto version xBALED has a small tab sticking out which is a b***h. The old version xBLED has the connection on the back of the ring. I guess the engineer guy just went full retard at some point during the process of designing the new ring . Anyhow, here is my little modification:
I re-soldered the wires to make them sideway to reduce the clearance. Next, I drilled a hole close as much as possible to the edge, but not quiet going over it to ensure enough clearance for the tab. Then, i shaved quiet a bit off about a quarter of the ring. Viola, PERFECT fitment, just like OEM. You have to look very closely to see the gap. |
