Very nice job man.. I don't have the patience to try something like that.. It came out really good. Awesome lights.. :happydance:

I checked on prices a wile back and the cost was too much for me, but I was asking for CF look and some custom stuff. Strait color may cost less.

Can I use this to replace the old sealant?

Red Devil 0698AG Butyl Rubber Sealant, 10.1-Ounce, Aluminium Gray - Amazon.com

I don't see why not. No one has used this stuff before. I tend to use what others have proven works. It's a sealant, I hope you can open back up later if you need to. Just in case LEDs burn out you want to be able to go back in and replace them.

That stuff looks like it would work. If you use it, let us know what the out come is..

Well, since the tube is Butyl Rubber, the same material that was used by the manufacturer, but in semi-liquid form which makes resealing easier by skipping the re-heating step. That's my 2 cents logic.

3m Vinyl http://www.ebay.com/bhp/3m-carbon-fiber-vinyl

I wouldn't use the 3M DiNoc. After warming a few times it gets stiff and none pliable.

Fitment mod

As you know, the new morimoto version xBALED has a small tab sticking out which is a b***h. The old version xBLED has the connection on the back of the ring. I guess the engineer guy just went full retard at some point during the process of designing the new ring :shakes head:. Anyhow, here is my little modification:

I re-soldered the wires to make them sideway to reduce the clearance.

Next, I drilled a hole close as much as possible to the edge, but not quiet going over it to ensure enough clearance for the tab.
http://imageshack.us/a/img9/8137/apct.jpg

Then, i shaved quiet a bit off about a quarter of the ring.

Viola, PERFECT fitment, just like OEM. You have to look very closely to see the gap.
