Digression... Has anyone tried/thought about hydrographics? Curious as to how they would hold up, especially on the projector housing. Edit: nm, saw one of the previous posts. Looks suhweet! |

djtodd: I checked on prices a wile back and the cost was too much for me, but I was asking for CF look and some custom stuff. Strait color may cost less. |
Can I use this to replace the old sealant?

That stuff looks like it would work. If you use it, let us know what the out come is.. |
Well, since the tube is Butyl Rubber, the same material that was used by the manufacturer, but in semi-liquid form which makes resealing easier by skipping the re-heating step. That's my 2 cents logic.

Where did you get the CF wrap from? |

I wouldn't use the 3M DiNoc. After warming a few times it gets stiff and none pliable. |
Fitment mod
As you know, the new morimoto version xBALED has a small tab sticking out which is a b***h. The old version xBLED has the connection on the back of the ring. I guess the engineer guy just went full retard at some point during the process of designing the new ring :shakes head:. Anyhow, here is my little modification:
I re-soldered the wires to make them sideway to reduce the clearance. http://imageshack.us/a/img43/7066/rnt9.jpg Next, I drilled a hole close as much as possible to the edge, but not quiet going over it to ensure enough clearance for the tab. http://imageshack.us/a/img9/8137/apct.jpg Then, i shaved quiet a bit off about a quarter of the ring. http://imageshack.us/a/img27/8598/esi4.jpg Viola, PERFECT fitment, just like OEM. You have to look very closely to see the gap. http://imageshack.us/a/img18/6623/99c3.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img541/5614/8bcn.jpg |
