These lights, in my experience, definitely need an extra helping of sealant to make them get a good, permanent seal. Just pushing them in while the stock sealant is pliable is not enough.

On mine you can see the wires a bit i went with dead center on the plastic peice. But i drilled the hole at the bottom so you have to look close to see it. Ye the Pop out is a ******** thing to happen. You would have to open it just to put it back in which sucks probably more than mine case.

- I drill my holes toward the top of the main projection shroud to hide the wires. What I have noticed is each halo I get is different were the wires come off the XB. I try to tuck the wires into the recess of the shroud. Sometimes the wires come right off the side of the halo and wont fold behind. I have to cut a small channel into the shroud to get the halo in place. - I have used Epoxy, JB Weld, Plastic Filler, Super Glue but what I have had no problems with is AutoGoop. As crazy as it sounds it hold the G3 lens and Halos in just fine. I have had a set of halos pop out but that was on me for not using enough Goop. - I also noticed the Colored XB Halos are slightly larger than the white by millimeters. Those I have to glue on the outside.. Easy way to get a good surface to attach to in that case is use some body filler and make 4 mounting point in the Shrouds recess to glue to. - I made a mess with epoxy once, and I spent a day fixing the light. Make a mistake with the AutoGoop and it cleans up easily. Hope this helps!:tiphat: |
I used Autogoop for the turn signal but it took a long time to dry which is why i wanted to try something else on this other one I did. I will go back to autogoop, it does look better and I like the rubbery way it dries. Another thing I might try is shaving the metal tab on the side of the halo down a bit so it doesnt rub against the inside of the shroud and drill a bigger hole so it doesnt want to pop out. We'll see when I fix his. Thanks!

One one set I had to clip :shakes head: the halo in half and remove a small section to egt it to fit. I lost 2 leds, one on each side.. I was surprised the hole thing didn't shut off. These things are delicate..
Sorry to see your vinyl bubbled. I think I'm gonna take mine off and have my shrouds black chromed and paint the light the same color as the car. Kind of like Mr&Mrs lights but in Platinum Graphite. See ya!:tiphat: |
yikes, you are brave for that! Yeah I didnt know about the primer before i did that and it only bubbled on the first headlight I did. That was because I kept reworking the 3m which made it lose its stickiness. Its ok, no more fake carbon fiber for me though, Im ready to learn how to do real carbon.

Hi guys just wanted to fill you in on TRS's warranty and how it works. So i sent them an email explaining the situation and that i've narrowed the problem down to a defective halo. They asked me to send them some pictures to show them the problem. I took pictures of the working side and the defective side:
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...pse9ab2da2.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps130c4e08.jpg They apologized for the defective components and said they will ship me a free replacement which should get here in 10-14 business days. So ye TRS has awsome customer service and they honour their warranties without hastle. They have my recommendation for sure. |
thats awesome, I was afraid they wouldnt. I sent back some HID bulbs that didnt work with our cars and they would give me credit or exchange only.

Ordered the halos and there's a tab sticking out how did y'all get te halo to fit on the large shroud (90mm)?
|
What kind of halos did you get? (XB's?) if you can post a picture of the tab.
I have had to cut a channel to tuck wires into the shroud. But before we go hacking the shroud up take a quick pic and post it. :tiphat: |
