NOTTOŽ SE - LED Daytime Running Lights
NOTTOŽ SE - LED Daytime Running Lights
I ordered these for $119. There are waterproof, exteremly bright and can be ordered in multiple lengths. I'm going to set them up this coming weekend and will do a write up for the forum. These seem very heavy duty and the Customer Support was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the product and professional. I'll keep you posted...:tiphat: |
do you do your own headlights mod?

Well, after working for two days to get this things to running correctly, I finally figured out that illuminated toggle switch I bought to turn them on/off was actually marked wrong. So, here are some first pictures of the new DDLs.

Someone cue up the Knight Rider theme....just teasing. I wish there was more room for better lights below the headlight itself. I bought the string that fits in the small space between lights and bumper from IJDMTOY.com http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...ate-trunk.html and I'm already down a couple of LEDs and its been like 3 or 4 months. Bought thicker, brighter set thinking I could tweak it but no luck.

DDL interfere with TPMS
So I finally figured out what I think has been going on. You tell me if this makes sense. I installed the DDL and ever since, it seems that when I turn them on, about 15 minutes later, my TPMS flashes and indicates "malfunction". Went to the dealership today and they reset the codes. Stated that because it wasn't on when I arrived, they can't tell which one. Thinking about the fact that I've never been losing tire pressure, that something else is up. Tested the theory on my way home that if the DDL's are off, no TPMS errors. If I turn them on, then about 15 minutes later it flashed again. This time I immediately turned them off and the TPMS flashing went away. Since the TPMS is wireless, I started thinking that the DDL's are somehow transmitting a pulse or signal that must be interrupting the TPMS. Called CARiD's technical support and believe it or not, these DDL's actually submit a radio signal (why I don't know) that if too close to the front tires, could affect the TPMS. They said the solution is to cover the backs of these with aluminum foil and that should keep the signal from interfering. I'm not sure to laugh at this or to seriously do this. I'm going to laugh my *** off if this is really the problem and the solution.

Hello. Are they mounted with double sided tape or did you drill into and bolt them to the bumper?

Philips DRL-4 Kit seems better

Based on the OP, I think the Philips set outperforms Notto. Philips has no weird radio signals (what the hey?!) and good tech support, plus comes with a control unit and costs only $85.
I prefer my mounting location, although of course that's a matter of personal taste. |

Well.....as it turns out. One of these already burned out and they are not in business from what I'm finding out. However, CarId was great at finding me a warranty replacement. I'm very pleased with their support. It was quick, on par and honest. New parts are on their way. Even though sub-vendor may not be available the prime sponsor, CarID provided great support! Just letting everyone know so you don't order this brand if they are still on peoples shelves.
