I agree with gy954 I don't think the door handles would work all that well

will plasti dip last a long time? I like the look of the plasti dip I am just worried about it wearing.. I noticed the original poster had it last over 6 months but has that been the case for many people? if it will hold up for a long time I will just do that and save money

Does PlastiDip Hold Up....
PlastiDip can be scratched off with a fingernail. If that makes it sound fragile, the funny thing is, it's not. I have had PlastiDip on my wheels for about three months, and they show no chips or scratches. But if they did, I would just spray on a coat or two in the general area of the damage and the finish is restored. That's because the solvent in the spray softens the existing coating, so the new stuff blends right in.

I plasti dipped my rims and wanted to offer a couple suggestions to anyone thinking about it. First make sure to use rubbing alcohol(safe for clearcoated paint) on your target surface after u wash it really well. Any dirt or wax residue will prevent a proper adhesion. Also the distance at which you spray it on makes a huge difference. 6 inches from the surface is perfect, and try not to vary this distance as you continue to apply. Spraying/misting from a further distance will cause a rough texture, which I found out the hard way. Lastly be sure sure to spray your edges well to prevent peeling.
Also the glossifier is great!

Depends on what you mean by "high pressure". You absolutely should NOT use a powered pressure washer on your car. Not only will it strip off the plastidip, it may also strip off the paint on plastic parts. This is because while paint on metal can be oven baked on, paint on plastic cannot.

*sigh* I didn't clean my rims enough and now it's bubbling up in spots. It still looks great though...

Always clean the area you're wanting to plasti dip with isopropyl alcohol! This will ensure the cleanest surface possible. Remember kids, preparation will either make or break this project!
