I would remove the harness and allow the dealer to do what they do and then put the harness back afterwards. It is very easy I would probably remove it

I would remove the harness and allow the dealer to do what they do and then put the harness back afterwards. It is very easy I would probably remove it in the parking lot of the dealer just in case the steering lock decides to fail the day you are taking the car in. You could just reconnect the brown wire using the connectors but as someone else said they may not realize what it is and remote it.
I would re-install the harness afterwards because from what I've heard/read is the steering lock is still very similar and why take the risk of the new one failing.
