Default Installed Z1motorsports 25-row oil cooler

I just installed the Z1Motorsports 25-row oil cooler kit with thermostatic plate and optional hose coverings. I also used Amsoil oil and filter and a magnetic drain plug. Just thought I'd share some pics and thoughts on the kit.

Everything came packaged neatly and organized and the instructions were detailed, thorough and accurate. I have never installed an oil cooler, but taking my time this took me about 3hrs going very carefully and fabricating a block off plate for cooler temps. Z1Motorsports did an awesome job with this kit and service. One thing I might suggest is them offering pre-fabricated block off plates. Its not a big deal, but might help with sales and help others save time.

Nice DIY. rep coming your way

MightyBobo and XwChriswX helped me do this same install a few weeks ago. Only differences were that I used Valvoline full synthetic oil, a Purolator oil filter, I had to run my lines differently due to my Injen CAI's, and I don't have thermostatic plate.

But this is a great mod. My temps haven't spiked above 190 since I installed it. Note, that's the temp of the oil after it's been through the cooler, so actual engine temp is probably closer to 220. Still, it hasn't gone past that once.

I'm going to need to invest in one of these soon. I'm hitting 220 in 50 degrees of normal driving.

If I were you I'd still get some heater hose and wrap it around the bottom oil line where it goes over the crash beam. Good install.

Yeah, I see that sharp edge now. I'll find something to guard that edge ASAP.

they are just long enough to install everything. All pre-cut to size etc. Won't be long for sure!
