Escort Passport 9500ix Scope Mount

I was looking at the mounts for the escort passport radar detector, I've got the suction cups on the windshield which I really didn't like.

The hardest part for me to build a custom mount was the rear view mirror attachment, what could you use to attach to the mirror?

Of course! I had an extra scope mount ring I received from a Tikka T3 rifle I bought last year, just about the right size too... off to the shop to build a mount!

Here is the scope ring mount I am using as my attachment to the rear view mirror.

I had a piece of aluminum angle I cut to build the arm for the detector bracket.

I used a file to angle the end of the aluminum so it would clamp into the ring base.

Bent a couple of angles in the aluminum and test fitted the bends.

Sprayed it up with plasti-dip for the stealth black ops look.

Here are the pics with the detector mounted, my phone pics suck. I might do some more bending to get the detector more forward toward the windshield, will give it some good test runs and get some better pics also.

That's very awesome. Good idea but it'll be hard to replicate.

Nice dude! I'll probably end up buying a blendmount since I dont have things like angled aluminum sitting around - but if you decided to sell these unfinished (or platidip finished?) I would buy one and I think a bunch of people would since blendmount has a monopoly on these things.
