Maybe I'll get one of the pricey ones as 1/2" and one of the cheaper ones for the 3/8" to start off

Perhaps. Whatever you do don't drop them. That can knock them out of calibration pretty easily.

No I haven't. I'm pretty happy with the wrench. I use it to torque the oil filter to the 120 ft lbs nut on the suspension.

I wouldn't buy husky, I've broke their wrench and sockets.

you mean the oil drain plug? ive not heard of many people that use a torque wrench for the filter or plug. when i do the oil change i just tighten it snug tight and that's it.
