Clear Bra Scratch Fix
Well I thought I'd give back to people get some good karma :)
-DISCLAIMER: This is for the 3m bra series it worked for me, DO NOT try if you are scared. It works for me especially when I scratch it by rubbing it too hard.- Supplies needed: 1. 70% Rubbing Alcohol 2. Microfiber cloth Directions: Do not do in direct sunlight, cool place preferable. Step 1: Drench the microfiber cloth in 70% alcohol, LIGHTLY go in circle motions over the entirety of the clear bra. Step 2: Let air dry, once air dried, once fully air dried repeat step one and two. Step 3: Let air dry and you're finished, if needed LIGHTLY go over the clear bra with your favorite detailer spray. (optional) Enjoy this easy DIY :) |

Nope! I talked with some of the people that make it and apply it to cars thats what they use cause when they apply the film they scweegie (however you spell that) the film and it causes small scratches so they use 70% alcohol to rid that before they give to the customer
|
LIke I said it worked for mine, cause I had severe circles in the bra, and it fixed it right up within seconds
|
Thank you! It works! I had some small fingernail scratch type marks, and it worked wonders! I'll need to check again to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
On a side note, try looking at the clearbra with polarized glasses and tilt your head. It's weird. |
Yes it does work! You can run with a CLEAN RAG and your favorite detailer spray I use ICE detailer spray on it and wipe off once it dries!
Glad it worked for you buddy! |
please give me rep if you are hapy!

As stated above, it is for the 3M bra, I have no clue with Venture Sheild, or Clear mask.

Look at one of those 90cent plastic protractors with polarized glasses holding it up to the light and you'll see a bunch of lines real close together at one spot on it and if you bend it until it snaps it will always break at that stress point. It's due to the polarizing affects of the plastic affecting the way the light goes through it. |
I had mine installed a few weeks ago and noticed some scratches in it.. Mostly from people touching it like OHH Cool.. whats this spot, oh its on the film.. idiots...
I'll have to give this a try. Thanks for the info. |
Hi guys. Just thought I would check in on this. I have the 3M bra and have some hood swirls/light scratches to deal with. My installer suggested the isopropyl alcohol approach as well.
Before I give it a shot, any tips/advice? One specific question - I assume you use the 70% solution 'full strength' (i.e. not diluted)? Thanks! |
Thanks for the tip k20z3. Someone backed into my front bumper (with 3M clear bra) in a parking lot and left scuff and streak marks in an area just below my right headlight (on the bumper). Can I apply this technique over just the affected areas or will that only make it look different than the rest of the bumper when I'm done?
Also, has anyone ever applied wax on the 3M clearbra? |
