Thanks Bud! I was worried it might run down the battery. Oh well im just happy i got my car back!

On a side note i'm never bringing my car back to that dealership..the service manager called me and told me my remote starter is not working and think its the cause of the car to stop working period (no power locking/unlocking doors) I was confused so I came up there to see and when i saw it...FIRST thing i noticed i didnt see the yellow key light..it was off..i told the manager man the battery is dead thats why you cant start the car" He just had this dumb look on his face. Anyways that was one of the problems I had with them..

probably not.

im thinking ~99% of people out there dont know about this issue unless they visit the forums and nitpick warranty repair issues, etc. :)

i would never consider selling my Z just for this issue, that's for sure.

when one of my 2 units go bad i will make sure to take it apart to see wat went wrong and fix it. even if it's non-functional as a lock, if i can get it to bypass the BCM i could careless about locking the steering itself. :)

Well I put the "D" lock in a little while ago very easy I used the security bolts they are easy to remove tap on the edge with a hammer and chisel they come right off,

As far as price for those of you who want to do like Me & Kenchan and buy it your self you can get a good deal if you are crafty and now how to work the system, contrary to some of your beliefs the I have great inside connections I do know a lot of people but again I know what buttons to push to get what I want.:happydance:

You were right $400-500 bucks is alot better than having my car sit at a dealer(outside)for a undetermined amount of time and some young inexperienced tech working & dirtying up my car,sh!t getting stolen off my car while it's at the dealer and the very careful tow truck driver Fvcking up my ground effects.

Money,SH!T!!! I can make more but the time and energy I have in my car,

PRICELESS

I wasn't aware of this issue, though I just checked and mine is working fine, no alert, it makes the sound when I hit start to ACC. But I do have the "B" rev. lock.

It sounds like it's close to being a recall, how will people be alerted of this recall if it does happen? I just bought mine and I'm wondering if I'll get something in the mail or not. It'd be great if we could have a sign up list of all "at risk" steering lock people so of and when the recall happens we can call our local dealers and get it taken care of.

a bit presumptuous... nissan hasn't made any indication of considering a recall to date. they seem to be ignoring the problem and reluctantly replacing it if you car is still under warranty.

Yeah... I was responding to a few previous posts indicating Nissan's limiting the sale of the replacement units, and that usually preceding a recall.

A guy can hope, right? I'd just rather not spend $500 that could go toward other more fun parts.
