Mr. kenchan, thanks for the reply (about 3 pages back). I have been offline and just catching up on this thread. Low battery battery if car is left sitting for any long periods of time, good call. Good price on the battery tender from amazon. I have a heavy duty one but will look into the amazon one. Probably not a cold weather issue, just throwing it out for some opinions.

Any previous owners (like myself) of the oil consuming 06 rev-up engines will agree it's an uphill battle with NNA. A TSB is more likely than any recall.

np! sucks that NNA is not very responsive to our needs. :(

They are like every other Auto Manufacturer... they'll give you the ol' reach around (do almost anything to seal the deal) during purchasing process... then everything goes to crap when you need service.

a big kick in the balls for us 2009-2011 owners...

Hmm, this might mean that the BCM can be updated to "delete" the steering lock (along with physical removal of course).

Anyone know if the BCM can be reflashed?

^ bummer man, hopefully the wait is not too long, but know that is wishful thinking from what I have read here and on the other threads.

Mr.kenchan, just a thought.... maybe setup a poll on this thread for those that have failed along with the rev number. It would give us a better idea of the number of failed units.

hey thechidz- trips mentioned one would need premium membership status to do the poll's...he's willing to help me out but since you already started collecting data if you'd like to do a poll, please PM triples to see if he can help you out instead.

It would behoove us to be able to change our vote (if at all possible) in consideration that those of us that have yet to be afflicted...may become so.

If you end up doing a poll just make it for the failure cases (year and rev), if you add a hasn't failed yet option then we can't change our vote when it does inevitably fail!

Like they used to say about the Corvette steering lock, it isn't a matter of if, it is a matter of when.

Any chance a 2012 BCM costs less than $500?

***edit: I just found a 2010 BCM for $269. Now to find a place selling a 2012 version...

kenchan 01-25-2012 09:46 PM

spearfish- i would first check to see what kind of steering lock is used on the 2012's. you're still going to need the signal feeding back to the BCM, i thinks...
