Never seeing the underside of this engine, is that large pipe next to the filter the exhaust??? After looking at some of the pics that have been posted, I'm wondering

Never seeing the underside of this engine, is that large pipe next to the filter the exhaust???
After looking at some of the pics that have been posted, I'm wondering if the longer oil filter sits closer to the hot exhaust pipe??? Is it possible that this could contribute to higher oil temps?
