AK,
Do you recommend the purolator filter over the K&N gold? If so where do you purchase the purulator filter?

Manufacturer Part Number: 11026-01M02 12mm OEM

Works on all 90's and newer Nissan and Infiniti.

Save yourself headaches and just buy on eBAY or at a Nissan dealership. You can get them for about $9+- or for a bag of 10.

From what I have read they are:
I.D. 12mm
O.D. 17.7mm

This seems like a good deal

3 PureOnes for a $1.

Advance Auto Parts have Purolator PureONE Oil Filter on sale for $5. Add 3 to cart for $15 - $5 code BIG5 - $9 rebate = $1 with free store pickup. (from slickdeals)

Difference on 2011 Nismo.

Just did the oil change on a 2011 370Z Nismo. Everything is the same except the undercover is larger (includes sides in front of wheel) and has way more clips (18 vs. 3 in original article). Mostly due to a cover not present in the original picture.

Absolutely NO reason to pull the cover off when doing a simple oil and filter change on a 370Z. Just open the access door and that is it..

I'm about to go change the oil on my 370z but the dealer is closed today and i dont have the Copper drain plug washer, is there any way that i can use the one I currently have or can I buy one at the auto parts store?

Well, I had a reason. I wasn't just changing the oil, I was also surveying things for an oil cooler installation in the near future.

Yes, I'm aware of this great article on the370z.com: Modshack DIY: Oil Cooler (scratch built install, lottsa pics)

Do not use the one you already have, they are one time use only. You should be able to find one in any local parts store. It just a squish-able copper washer, nothing really fancy.

Billarf 07-04-2011 08:24 PM

Well, very often you hear of people using them over and over but it is not recommended. You chance seepage/a leak. Get a Genuine Nissan crush washer (Manufacturer Part Number: 11026-01M02 12mm OEM) and it has two different sides so do be sure to put it on right. Read back through this thread for pics of the crush washer installed correctly, etc.
