One more thing....
I'd like to add one more thing to Option #1 that did that REALLY helped me with this mod.
At first the damned leather boot kept just sliding up and popping off. It was really annoying. I was thinking great, another DIY that leaves out steps or is much harder than told. But I was like, there has to be a way to do this, because others did it, but there also has to be a way to make this easier / better. My first thought was some big rubber bands, but that didn't work. My second thought was hot melt glue or some sort of quick set super glue, but then I thought that might be messy and might be "too" permanent, especially if all didn't go just right. Then I thought about foamtape (which I have on rolls at work), and that ended up being the PERFECT fix. The tape provided hold to keep it in place, but it also allowed me to lift and tighten, or lift and loosen, then reapply. Basically the tape on the inside fabric holds, but does not permanently bond. It was great to get it fitting just the way I liked. The other bonus is that if I ever need to undo this mod, the tape allows me to do it, or even redo it if necessary over time. Perfect. I wrapped the tape fully around the shifter guide, and put an extra flat piece on the back side and the front side. Here's some pics. You can see the tape with the white liner left on prior to assembly. Hope this helps others. Cheers --- Bonzo

P.S.
Oh yeah, and also took the time to swap out the S-Mode button and put it on my automatic trim. This way, while it really doesn't do anything, it at least "looks" like it does something, which is better than a plain silver bump that does neither.

I tried my hand at this today and love it so far. It took about an hour, fit is not where I want it yet. Its close but a crazy thunder storm hit before I could get it perfect.
The back part of the bezel wont stay clipped in and leaves a slight cap. Its not really noticeable but its killing me. A few more minutes with the the dremel should get it there. Ill get better pictures later this week.

Once your done it looks really cool plus you can blow people away if you change your shift knob for a aftermarket one, they won't believe is a 7at.

Oh no, I have the boot already installed. Looks great, I was talking about finding an MT knob to fit the AT.

I want to use one of the PW:JDM Balanced shift knobs because they look awesome. Just worried about it sitting up so high due to the height of the shifter...

This is the problem. Converting an MT knob to AT is a bitch.
AT knobs are ugly and huge. Must make your own lol

You guys are crazy about your knobs.
I actually really like the OEM tight black leather on my girl. And I LOVE squeezing her button.
