Thanks wstar for the response. That doesn't sound as bad as I originally thought. Would you recommend ramps or it can be done easily without?

It definitely *can* be done flat on the ground. I didn't use ramps when I installed my intakes. But you will find it easier to see and remove the bolts on the underside on ramps, especially if it's your first time.
