DIY: Level out your exhaust
Drivers side: Before
SAM_4854.jpg Passenger side: Before Unacceptable for my OCD SAM_4855.jpg Tools required: ratchet with 12mm socket and extension SAM_4856.jpg Unbolt hanger bracket that needs spacing so you can level out the tips SAM_4858.JPG Remove hanger bracket SAM_4859.JPG Take to your local steel fab shop, (if you have one) tell them you need a spacer made for however off your exhaust is. (mine was 1/4") I chose to use stainless steel bc it was a small piece and only cost me $30.00 to make, plus it was going to be under the car and exposed to the weather. You could use aluminum and powder coat it but would probably spend more doing so. if you have a weird measurement you may need to have multiple spacers of different thicknesses and stack them or do both sides to get just right. I guess in this sense I was lucky. Some people try to bend the hangers on the exhaust itself, but could end up with less then desirable results. The way the exhaust on the 370 is setup this seems the most logical way to correct it. No floor jack or removal of exhaust required. (smarter not harder right?) SAM_4860.JPG Took a couple hours to fab up,(picked up the next day) here is the result: SAM_4861.JPG It looks real good to me! SAM_4862.jpg Bolt the hanger bracket back up with the spacer inserted SAM_4864.jpg Drivers side: after SAM_4866.jpg Passenger side: after, much better SAM_4867.jpg Now I can sleep knowing my exhaust is not uneven SAM_4869.jpgl

Thank you...At first I did use washers. But I wanted to use at least 1 ½ in diameter fender washers so it would be more flush instead of having a large gap between the washers. But couldn't find them in stainless so I used galvanized. But remembered you can only use galvanized on galvanized if it were to be weathered, electrolysis will create rust in no time. Then I came up with this idea and for 30 bucks I feel better having a solid piece of stainless there for a flush install. Plus I thought it would cost me more to have it fabbed up so when i called and he said only 30$ i was even more quick to say yes

Yeah I worked in a mechanical shop for a buddy of mine when i was in between jobs. He is in the pipefitters union and the best welder i ever seen. I learned a lot about fabrication and would love to keep doing it for fun. But since then i moved and got back into sales so those resources are no longer available to me. But I wish they were. The best part of being a car enthusiast is doing as much work as you can yourself
