DIY: Stock Catback Exhaust Removal

I replaced the stock system with an HKS system and it included all the bolts you would need. The stock stuff seems to be comprised of a lug and nut

I replaced the stock system with an HKS system and it included all the bolts you would need. The stock stuff seems to be comprised of a lug and nut (almost like what holds your rims on) and you can't really grip the head of the lug with anything while tightening the nut - I guess you could reuse it but I would recommend getting new bolts and nuts.

Linpark,
my stillen set will be on the porch waiting for me when i get home today. where do you locate the floor jack under the rear to lift the car up, and can i get by with 2 jacks under the rear sides, leaving the fronts on the ground, is this enough to get under and get it done.?

I used the recommended side rear jack points in the user manual (can find it under the section for changing out a flat tire) and only raised the rear of the car when working on the catback. I jacked up one side and used a stand to support it then jacked up the other side and used a stand on it.

Finished the stillen cat-back exhaust system today, about an 1-1/2 hour with my teen son helping out..eveything fit great, looks perfect, and the sound and response is by far worth the $1200 spent. Stillen's tech support with my order and fast shipping were good to go. Really enjoying the new personality, the cold air intake system will be here in a couple days.

Does anyone know what the part number for the bolt for the mid section hanger? My snap in half! I'm went thru the service manual book, and not able to find that part. Any help would be appreciated.

I find the application of heat in the form of a handheld propane torch does the trick on rusted bolts. Never hurts to soak it in penetrating oil overnight, but if that doesn't work out comes torch, works like a charm.

Hey guys so I just removed my cat back today I love the way it sounds but I'm kinda iffy on some stuff. The piping that was left exposed I went ahead and tied it down with the sway bar so the pipes won't rattle while I drive. But than I noticed that having the pipes tied makes them point up toward my gas tank. This makes my rear bumper heat up while the cars on and not moving. Could this much heat affect anything. If I dont have the rear pipes tied down they rattle while I drive when I reach about 3k rpm.
