Ok man heres what you are going to have to do. You will need some wire like this... Attachment 54389 then u willhave to splice off that clip to extend it about 3-4 feet to give u play roomAttachment 54390 i wrapped it in a plastic electrical tube to insulate it from water then u have to take off ur inside liner in ur trunk and remove one of ur tail lights Attachment 54392then run the wire and tap into the harness wiring of the tail light i chose the red one for it to b on when the tail lights are on. Idr which wire it is for the brake lights but use a connector that can connect ur new wire to the tail lights like i have it and then cut excess off and seal it up with electrical tape and voila ur done Attachment 54393
Edit heres the wires and what they are forhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/09/17/ba6ymava.jpg Hopefully that will help u Oh yeah u might want to take it off ur car first!! Its reallllyyyy easy!! U just need a flat head to pop the little plastic push pins out and the a socket i think idr to take off the two bolts that attach the fog light to ur car its easy it takes u probably 2 minutes to do. Then once its off splice that connector etc |
thank you so so so so much kid.
i am horrible when it comes to wiring, but im sure my boys will be able to understand this. thank you again. |

Ok noob electrician here, how does the OEM reverse fog light stalk work woth the EVOR fog light. I have nothing hooked up at the moment. Will I have to wire the fog light to the tai lights then run a wire all the way to the stalk or what? Also what wiring is involved in reversing the stalks, will I have to reverse all the wires for the wipers and lights?
I want this fog light to be able to have a switch for me to turn it on and off. |
The OEM one has a basic harness 2 wires if I can remember correctly, a positive and a negative. You can just hook it up to the OEM wire harness with the wires EVO-r has supplied for the fog light. I also went this route because I just like it to be on when I have my lights (like the OEM) on and no flashing function is being used on mine. This way when you turn your lights on you can then turn your fog light on or off you choice the switch on the stalk will work as if it was the OEM fog light....... hope this helped.

Any ideas which wire is positive and which is negative? I ordered the light and the harness from Z1...but since both wires are black...I'm not sure if one is positive and the other is negative or if they are "universal."

If it's an incandescent lamp, polarity doesn't matter (but it will help whoever has to troubleshoot it in 10 years if you get the colors right). If LED, it just won't light and shouldn't do any damage if you get the wires backwards. |
If you have an Ohm meter, connect one lead to the red wire and check the two wires, one will have continuity, that is the "red" wire that just looks black. Just looking at the picture you have, the red wire looks like it goes to the black wire with the trace. Of course, the wire could be twisted inside the sleeve. Just shoot through the connecter

Anybody else get a check engine light after install? I connected and disconnected the negative port side battery several times and already recal unrated my window regs. Can't figure out what's wrong?!?
