How come for outside of the US they recommend an oil change interval of 6000 miles but in the US they recommend 3750? Are they trying to say that we

How come for outside of the US they recommend an oil change interval of 6000 miles but in the US they recommend 3750? Are they trying to say that we are too hard on our cars over here?
