NOT those LEDS, they should not. Now the map dome with like 25 on a panel I have seen melt the plastic dome cover. Let me check my part # on the parking lights against yours.

the bulb here has 13 LED's and I'm thinking it might produce too much heat.

Just checked my part # and it's exactly the same as yours and from the same source. Had them installed on three 370Z's and all three were done two months ago. No issues at all with melting.

Just did mine they look great, good DIY. I did notice on mine that I didn't have a bottom clip nor a spot for one. Just took off the round one, broke one  tough little suckers to pull out but then just pealed the liner back and pug and play really easy.

No pictures just the same as previous posted and recovered the girl up for rest of the winter

Just did this today, thanks for the write-up.

The OP link is dead, can someone please post a new link for purchasing DRL LEDs and what the bulb type is?

I'm looking for DRLs that match closely to the Headlight color, so as close to 4300K as one could get, I'm guessing 5000K or 6000K?

faya 09-23-2013 08:18 PM

i am looking for this one too. please help... i need specs especially for 2013 nismo. i am not really if there is a difference from the rest. advance thanks!

The most leds for part number 168 they seem to have right now in the 6k is a 8 led one. It only has a 2 output rating, so I guess they aren't that bright has anyone tried the these?

I just used the license plate led's I got from JDWMotoring forum sponsor on here, and they work and look great. I put some pics in this other thread if anyone wants to see.

Tried doing this with a buddy of mine on his 2013 370z but his fender doesn't have the three tabs like in Trooper's pics...

Gibby1113 10-27-2013 06:53 PM

Hey Trooper when I click on the link it doesn't load the page correctly. It says there was an error. Any clue why? Thanks.

Kabestro 01-30-2014 08:07 PM

Does anyone have a link to LEDs for the parking lights in the 5000K temp. range (closer to stock color)?

Kabestro 03-03-2014 08:17 PM

Anyone have any issues with the fuse blowing while replacing these parking lights? I've bought two different pairs of LEDs and one melted and the others shorted a fuse. I'm I buying two much crap or are they more than the 5W that are the stock bulbs?

I get my bulbs from Autolumination: 194 Bulbs 168 W5W 2825 Map Led Parking Signal Side Marker

Order any of the "Super White" 194 bulbs from this page and you should be good. They are around 5000k. They are local for me and have never let me down.

I want to do the daytime running light on with the parking led swap, but at iJDMTOY there is a mention about there "tapping" into existing wiring , therefore is not a plug and play as the rear license plate swap...anyone experience problems along the way. You tube has a video of the actual look and features after the install but no step by step or PDF file ...help please :driving:

Limeybastard 05-29-2014 06:25 PM

I think the 2013 > come with LED already on these bulbs?

No, the parking lights are yellowish and different from the DRL's as well as I want them to turn on along with the headlights and know it can be done with a kit but before I buy it I'm looking for information for the install...thanks

If you're talking about the iJDMTOY kit with the LEDs and some quick splices, It doesn't work. I bought the kit and installed it and it seemed to work great until I lowered the e-brake. The DRLs turn on when you lower the e-brake at day time, what iJDM doesn't tell you is that with the kit installed and when you lower the e-brake at day time almost every light in the car turns on since you quick spliced the parking lights with the DRLs. I'm talking about DRLs, parking lights, license plate lights and brake lights all turned on when I lowered the e-brake. That was not what I had in mind when I bought the kit. Just wanted the DRLs to be on with the headlights that's it. I've written two reviews on that kit and both have been deleted. They should tell you what you are getting with that kit. I took it off and left the LED light that came with the kit since they do match pretty good the color of the DRLs, but in about a week they blew a fuse. Just in case that happens to you or anybody else, the fuse is in the fuse box next to the battery easy to get to. :tiphat:

370z 2013 LED Day lights Kit, check that thread there are pics of the fuse box.

I appreciate this additional information. I always wonder about some mods that seem to be the answer you're looking for but unfortunately they' re not always correct. :tiphat:

just swapped out mine with 6k LEDs. i think the nismo model might be different in terms of the plastic rivets, as mine didn't have the ones one on the bottom of the inner wheel well.

LEDs are much improvement over the yellowish bulbs.

i actually just recently had to take out the inner well again to swap out with 6000K bulbs to match the 6000K parking leds. there are 4 rivets you will need to remove in order to get the inner well (the one closer to the front of the car) off.

also, i would suggest you go by your Nissan dealer and buy a few of the rivets. while you are trying to remove them, chances are, one of the 4 arm pieces will break off. they're like 30 cents/rivet

gotcha, that seems a little more like the setup im working with. i had read this thread & went out to install the bulbs and hesitated before i started ripping all those rivets off. wonder why we are the only ones to have noticed this, granted its an old thread but still..?

Help. Where can I buy the lens for my parking lights? Anybody know? Mine got painted black and I don't know if I can get it off.

Try a scotch brite pad? Goof off liquid?

If you're going to replace them might as well get a bit aggressive with saving the old ones, you can then progressively wet sand them back to clear (for varying values of clear)

Good luck!

Zgrunt 06-27-2019 06:39 AM

Thanks for the DIY. I know this is and older post, but it still is relevant. My 2017 base didn't have the three rivets, I only saw one. I took it out and hold back the cover and then switched out the bulbs. Very easy, thanks again.
