I have tried everything mentioned in every thread for taking off the knob except for taking the shifter off and placing it in a vice. I was not even able to get the knob to budge. I don't want to ruin the knob in case I need to reinstall it. I'll just stick with the stock knob. It's actually quite nice, although I'd like it to be a bit shorter.
