The gains are good, definitely pulls harder, have been watching the AFR with torque, the computers in these cars are amazing.

There is a big summer car show here in town tonight, drove around some, seemed like the computer was learning the new intake, acceleration got better the longer I drove (about 20-30 miles), the test pipes are really breathing now!

Lots of fun.

I don't mean for this to be a stupid question so I appoligize in advance. Do you disconnect the battery for safety reasons or is there another reason?

Most OCD folks disconnect it whenever they work on their car - it's the safe thing to do for sure but isn't 100% necessary everytime if you know what you are doing. I left mine connected while I installed the spacers on the rims.

Takes roughly 5 minutes to remove the bumper.

Great write up. I ******* crushed the intake tubes on the passenger side with those clamps. They just kept tightening....
Now I'm stuck wondering how much I might have impeded air flow.

Using foam around the intake and the holes you had to dremel seems like a great idea. I have been getting a little rattle from the passenger side (only noticeable when in reverse for some reason).

How has the foam been holding up now that you have driven it around some?

Thanks for the great write-up AK

I also used this Dremel accessory and it was a breeze. Just a couple of minutes each side and the hole was large enough. I did a Z1 silicone hose swap while I was doing the install as well as adding a 24 row oil cooler (since I had the bumper dropped):
