Hello, Im new to the forum as well as a new Z owner. It seems as though the G3s are the way to go. Before i order them i wanted to ask you the purpose of the ducts that you cut with the dremel. What purpose do they serve? Is there any disadvantage to removing and cutting that plastic?
Thanks in advance, Austin |

I had the same ? Hope this helps you have to cut them in order for the tubes to go in, and in order to take those out you have to do twice as work. It wasn't hard to cut them and here you have all you need as instructions.

Yes, taking them out would be a big pain. In addition, you will need those inserts to support the intake and keep it from rattling around. It is really easy to modify them.

Just wanted to thank those who posted instructions/pics of this install. Made it pretty easy.
1. The pieces you cut are plastic but too thick for a knife...a dremel worked fine. 2. The stud people are talking about cutting, I just glued a vacuum cap over them. 3. After install, the windows wouldn't work correctly but someone here posted (looks like the info was from the owners manual) the process to reprogram the windows (which REALLY helped when the rain started to come down...) on an off point, I had the CEL for about 200-300 miles. I had several suggestions about why but was getting uprev AFTER G3 so I wasn't too concerned......just prior to G3, I put the Z thru 1 hard launch and the CEL extinguished itself. (checked dash lights to be sure buld didn't burn out) comments...F.I. tdx really woke the car up, G3s noticably smoothed out the power across the spectrum. Can't wait for uprev and a day at the track (b4 the heat gets here) TKS again everyone. Its hard to make myself work on a pricey daily driver but everything went smoothly. (there WAS a bit of hesitation pulling the fascia off tho...lol) |

Thanks AK i just finished intalling my intake and it was easier than i expected. The scariest thing was taking the bumper off but everything worked out.
For anyone that is thinking aboout doing it, with this directions there is no problem. Thanks again AK!

To be honest, they look cool and probably add a great deep sound, but I've yet to see anyone identify if there is any real RWHP gain from this install. So far, all I've read is that it moves the power up (possibly) in the power band which means you lose low end torque-which is what you want when racing, not high end unless you plan to run at high speeds.....Anyone have some realy before and after Dyno numbers to show?
