There are a lot of other threads that have to do with the ECU and programming. I looked in to doing that sometime ago, but at the time it hadn't been cracked yet. But like I said, that was a few years ago. Maybe someone has figured something out by now?

I actually never got around to installing the HD radio adapter. When I did the initial install I realized I was missing an antenna extension cable. I did get the cable, but lost interest in having HD radio, so I never bothered with it. Sorry.

Hey Red,
I read your DIY and could swear you were talking about me concerning having wires all over the place. Drive me nuts! I have done similar mods to both my G35 (replaced with my 2011 z sport touring) as well as my Honda element. I bought a cheap blue tooth receiver to plug into the 3.5 mm jack on the dash and have yet to receive it. I suspect it will not meet my needs completely to use with my iphone 5. I suspect I will go the route you went soon. Another desire I have is to have a mount, perhaps attached near drivers or passenger knee, which would allow the pone to be slipped in one handed. I really don't like having to attach the phone then mounting it. I hope that makes sense. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Chris

Step 2: Unscrew the shift knob. This will allow you to remove the trim ring and boot. If your not comfortable removing it, you can work around it. If you remove the surround completely, re-install the shift knob, or cover the bare shift handle with a cloth. This will prevent it from scratching the face of the stereo once it’s pulled forward.

Step 32: Since you disconnected the airbag light on the right side of the stereo, you will have to rest it, or your airbag light will flash, which is REALLY annoying. Here is how to reset it:
If you have the airbag light blinking here is how to reset it:
1. Push the start button two times (Ignition on but engine not started).
2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few seconds. As soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off QUICKLY.
3. Count to 5
4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.
5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can let this run for a few seconds.
6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 again and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

I would like to change/add to these. If you mask the area around the outside of the shiftier ring you do not have to try and remove the shiftier knob. I have never taken one off because of how much of a pain they are.

Also if you reattach the air bag light BEFORE connecting the negative batter terminal either by taking the light out the trim piece and plugging it in or putting the whole piece back the airbag reset can be avoided. A lot easier to take a few seconds and reconnect that than having to reset the whole system.
