DIY: Southern California Clear Bra Installer
Preface: I have no affiliation with Aero Tect and this is the first time I have contracted their services. I explained to them that I would be photographing the process, and there are more photographs, but for the sake of brevity I chose ones that convey the results.
Our 370Z just completed its clear bra installation through Aero Tect. Areas covered include:
I was searching for an installer who had a shop as I prefer that versus doing in my garage or theirs—Aero Tect fit my criterion well with a dedicated bay, and the added bonus of all the equipment to cut needed the patterns in-house, plus design, and cut if necessary. Since I wanted a bit more protection and in reviewing the car with Francisco Castillo (the shop owner), along with Jason, and Adi, they derived, designed, and made the first available (that I know of) Rear Wheel Impact Area kit for the large flanks on the wheel wheels opening just behind the doors! They are also designing a kit for the Nissan factory splashguards, both front and rear to help prevent the areas of impact from getting damaged from flying tire debris. Custom! My wife and and I could not be more satisfied with the results. In fact I was so pleased (I was there during the installation that I asked them to custom cut one of their logos that we placed on the rear windshield. It is always great when matters go well as I always hesitate (read worry) when having to have work done to any of our vehicles. I will be adding more photograph(s) shading the exact ares where the clear bra was applied (as I have in the rear impact area). I recommend Aero Tect with no reservations as they are enthiuasts like us! Aero Tect 1935 Mckinley Ave Ste F La Verne CA 91750-5840 Toll Free: (866) 388-2376 P.S. Watermarking the photographs with the Aero Tect logo was my idea (as I like to give credit to people for their work) and permission was granted for use on said photographs from Aero Tect. http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...1-she-goes.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-so-begins.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...ront-sides.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...ield-ultra.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-completed.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...rs-install.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...rs-covered.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...ts-covered.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-completed.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-well-done.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-tect-logo.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/socal...-adi-jason.jpg |
looks like they did a great job. i've been deciding on whether or not to get the clear bra. i might just give them a call.
|
If you don't mind me asking.... How much did it run?
|
I called Aero Tect and as soon as I get my tax refund Im going to get VentureShied Ultra installed.
|
id like this done too. how much was it?
|
Aerotect guys look like they done a great job.
|
Was this install done with the 150 micron (7510) or the 300 micron (7514) Ventureshield? Looks like a great job. I wish I lived in Southern CA.

We use Venture Ultra 7510CC Clear Coated 8.5 mil film. We do carry the 7514CC as well, but use that mostly for other applications. Most abuse a car can suffer can be handled by the 7510. I have taken my truck off roading several times, and still have a perfect front buper using the 7510. |

I see that the 370z is on a ramp when the front is install.
Did the installer use the Rhino Ramp? Canadian Tire Did they use 2 x 4 to clear the front? Thanks |

It's nice...
But pricey... Maybe should just make one like this. MY350Z.COM Forums - View Single Post - any ramps to hold up whole car?? |
We actualy use Race Ramps. Not sure the website, but a quick google search should find them easy enough. We did not need to use any sort of extension to get the Z up on the ramps...
I guess Jim found it for me, lol. |
Thanks....
THe Race Ramps are great...but too expensive for me... |
Is there a compatible kit for Nismo 370Z's?
|
how much does it all cost?
|
Thanks for this post, I just emailed them for a quote on my Z.
|
Man you should have just had the whole car wraped, you had most done as it is. Will this stuff discolor in a year or two? And if you do get damage do they fix it for free?
|
I went to aerotect this past monday. real nice group of ppl and very friendly. i would recommend going to them in the future. they did a pretty good job and i'm happy it took them under 2 hours for the basic package: bumper, front of hood, front of side fenders, a pillars, mirrors, and rear rocker panels
|
Cost?
|
I got the 370Z package as well from them in April. Is it normal to have dirt trapped in the seams? I can't imagine it is.
I had my rear rocker film replaced once already by aerotect bc of dirt in the seams. Now I noticed the dirt is back not only there, but at the fenders too. Also, the a pillar film on both sides is yellowing. |
clear bra, ventureshield, whatever...it's gonna yellow and collect dirt in the seems on a white car.
For the dirt in the seems, try using rubbing alcho.....worked for me plenty of times. I'm trying to think of the bottle i used to clean the clear bra, it def helped. It is in a aluminum type bottle ( looks like klasse bottle) ...it is a greenish liquid with a funky smell....(hopefully i'll remember in the morning).. |
So what is the cost? I may want to get it done.
|
^650
|
I have a guy that does is for 425!
|
^ will he do an amuse front bumper???

They have a matte black finish that is freakin hot!!!! Instead of going clear you can do matte. Totally throws you off, you'd think its painted. Soon as I pull mine off next year, I'm getting the matte finish. |
^wpuldnt you have to wrap the whole car then if you do matte black?
$$$$$ |
just follow the lines, but yes it would look a lot nicer to have a full wrap.

A solid thumbs up to Aerotect
Did a lot of research on films before selecting Aerotect for my new Z. Francisco and Jason did a great job at a fair price installing 3M--the right installer makes all the difference when it comes to protecting these cars and Aerotect has it down pat. If your in SoCal you should definitely check them out.

Autoskinz in Valencia is the only Expel authorized dealer in SF Valley and they did an amazing job on the nose of my pearl white 15' roadster. $650ish for the nose only. Can't even see it and first class service. Came to my work, picked up the car, and also tinted the windows with bra all in one working day. Fantastic service and they will love your car too. It's nice having enthusiasts love and work on your car.
