I just put mine in.....and thanks in large part to this write-up it took roughly 10 minutes to do, and that was taking it slow. Small hands make it even

I installed mine a few weeks ago. I didn't take the dash apart though. I just used a fiberglass pry tool the same I used to pop the covers off the dome lights to put the led's in. Just put the pry tool underneath the button trim piece at the 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions and gently pop it out. Then pull the stock button out unhook the harness, plug the into the GTR button pop it back in and your set. I believe a DIY for that way is on the forum somewhere too

I was about to pull the trigger and get one today, but I had to hurry back to work.... only 54 dollars at the Nissan Dealership. They tend to have GT-Rs enter their shop on the daily....

IMHO i think the stock one not that it looks better or anything i just would rather keep the stock one in although i do think they should have put a different push button in to differentiate from all their other cars but thats just me

Hi guys a quick question (sorry if it was asked before, I couldn't find it): Would this mod void my warranty? I would really appreciate any response asap. Thanks

Aftermarket mods are not covered by warranty, although I'm not exactly sure about putting a GT-R start button on a Z (I would guess they still won't cover it). If the dealer can claim that your aftermarket part or the install of an aftermarket part caused the problem, they won't warranty stock parts that fail because of it. So unless your start button causes something else to fail (highly unlikely) or fails itself, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you're that concerned about it, just keep the stock button around and reinstall it if you have to take your car to a dealer.

For someone like me who is absolutely terrible in being able to install any sort of modifications, this was very easy using Triple's instructions. I didn't want to risk marking up the start button by using the alternative method so I used Triple's instructions. Took me around 10 minutes to install. Looks waaaaaay better I think. From some of the people who have riden in my afterwards, thats one of the first things they notice inside the car.
