The very first comment in this thread has photos -- I want the CF/SD card slot input for my music, is this a standard Nissan thing or an after market?

I didn't know people owned CF cards anymore. |

Don't know exactly if they even offer that anymore |
Well I have the USB slot in the center console, but having the slot on the dash would be better.
And along this thread, I take it the current 2014 Z takes the same red start button and this mod is still valid? |
Yes. :)

My first mod! I'm surprised there are so many pages here of folks taking off so many panels and not just popping out the outer ring with a screwdriver. Maybe the first post needs to be edited to say DON'T DO IT THIS WAY!
I'd have finished 10 minutes sooner but I was trying to pull the start button out of the ring and not push. As soon as I checked here to see my errors I pushed instead, and the button went flying into the back seat. The new one looks great! |
your Z has a back seat? :rofl2:

But I didn't want folks to potentially damage the sides of the panel trying to pop out the switch with a screwdriver  Thats the reason for the more careful DIY approach never mind this is the Original DIY and so their are others with the simple approach since then. But Thanks for the advise. Good to hear you did it  |

Where do you keep the hookers? |
Let me look... no it doesn't!

Installed my GTR start button this past Saturday. Tried popping off the ring with a eye glass screw driver but it wasn't coming out so I went with a small screw driver with a bigger surface to make sure I didn't leave any dents. It pops out pretty easy, only had to do one side. Very happy with the results, this DIY was very helpful.
