Just put mine in, went to west covina nissan, and got it for 34$ plus tax, your write up was perfect! Had it installed in 6 minutes lol thanks!

Has anyone tried to remove the stock push button by gently prying it out of its current position? Is it absolutely necessary to remove the shifter trim pieces and I/P trim panel to remove from behind?

The button is locked in place so the answer is NO

It can be done, just not without f**king up everything within 6 inches of the button.

Doing it right only takes 10 minutes, a flat head and a Phillips screwdriver, but if you want to take the lazy way, please share your finished product with us
