I just got done installing mine. I have a 6MT and was able to install the switch with out having to disconnect the hazard switch. I left the silver trim piece with the hazard switch in place and only pulled up the black bezel with the stitching on it. From there it is the same walk through as in the beginning of the post. It took me about 15 min. Button looks great. Like some one mentioned before the button is not a true red color but more of a metallic red. The Z should have come with it in the first place. Thanks for the DIY.

There are two screws on each side (for each knee pad). One is below the shift ring and the other is below the HVAC controls.

Silver bezel gets removed first and then the shifter boot gets removed. Remove the two screws that hold the center panel pull forward and you should be able to reach the start button. hope that helps

You are welcome. If you look at Triple's picture above it's the screw right below where the screw is that is being removed. In the picture the upper screw for the knee pad has already been removed, however, you can see the mounting point. The mounting point sticks out from the base of the console.

For further clarification, the screw that is being removed in the picture is the one that attaches the bottom of the center console trim to the center stack.

Just got mine in the mail, can't wait to put it in. Red button on a red car. It should have come from the dealer like that.

Zpirate.
The knee pad screws on the side are the ones that are giving me trouble. Really on tight. Thanks for the clarification on the other one.
