Ramps that work with Nismo
I want to get some ramps for my Nismo, makes for easier oil changes, anyway, if I do the 2x6 trick, has any one figured out how many and how long they need to be to work? I figured no sense in re-figuring what has already been done.
Thanks Bob |

Although I do not have the Nismo nose, I picked-up these 67" Race Ramps for a standard 370Z:
Love 'em. They also have extenders to these for the lowest of cars, but you will probably not need them. Here is how to measure for them if you are interested: Ramp Test. Checkout the forum threads about them: 56" Race Ramps Video Demo My new Race Ramps. |
A terrific source to buy Race Ramps from is from Reverse Logic Limited ---> Low Profile Ramps & Wheel Cribs
Terrific to deal with, pricing excellent and Fred the owner gets them to you at super sonic speed. I've bought from him twice now and he is good to deal with and an excellent communicator. |
Forgot to mention that Reverse Logic Limited has FREE Shipping which saves you lots on Race Ramp products. Other vendors get you for $25+- on shipping.

I've been thinking about a set of Race Ramps. Thanks for the info on a good vendor for them.

For chocks to use with Race Ramps consider these.
---> Buyers Rubber Wheel Chock, Model# WC1467A | Wheel Chocks | Northern Tool + Equipment Race Ramp vendors/ Race Ramp get $14 each for basically the same chock that Northern Tool is getting $7.00 each for. |
Hey ZMYRIDE,
are those rhino ramps? Can you post the dimensions of your boards? (and the wood type) Thanks, :tiphat: |
$200 a set for the 1 piece, ouch.

The 2x4 approach is definitely the most cost effective. I was going to spend $400 on a uber low profile jack but I'm just going to cut some pieces of 2x4 to drive all 4 corners up on so I can get my current jack under the car.

Cool info about the race ramps. The Flatstoppers look like a good alternative to putting the car on jackstands for winter storage too.
|
Would it be possible to use 4 ramps, one at each corner and drive up, or should one stick to the traditional 2 ramps up front and 2 jack stands in the rear?

Shame you're not local, i could just weld you up some aluminum ramps

The Race Ramps are just barely too high for the Nismo, especially if you remove the suspension spacers. :) Trust me I bought the Race Ramps and figured it out myself.
I'm considering Xtenders (ugh another $120??) or the 2x8 solution. |
Too bad you didn't get the 67" RRs.

I have a set of Takata LDS (low down slope) ramps that work great for getting the jack under my Nismo:
http://evasivemotorsports.com/mercha..._lds_ramps.jpg I heard a while back they were discontinued but not sure. I think there are other brands that have the same or similar design. One named Tomioka comes to mind. If you do a Google search I'm sure you'll find some. |
2-stage incline RLL-87-2 and RLL-72-2 Race Ramps have 6.8 degree incline
If the incline angle of the RR-56 Race Ramps is too steep for your car, the RR-XT (67") Race Ramps won't help. Both ramps have the same 10.75 degree incline angle. The longer length of the 67" ramps allows the platform section of the ramp to be raised 2" to a height of 10". If the 67" ramps were also 8" high, then the longer length would result in a more shallow angle.
Reverse Logic Limited offers RLL-87-2 and RLL-72-2 two-stage incline Race Ramps with an initial incline angle of 6.8 degrees. Basically, these ramps are the same as the 56" and 67" ramps with an integrated XTender built into the incline section of the ramp. Quote:
