Did mine today after acquiring a long screwdriver to reach screws #5-7. This thread was a huge help as was this YouTube video that I found that I don't think has been linked here. It is for a G37, but very, very similar.
The first time I tried putting the assembly back in none of the 5-7 holes lined up. I re-tried it and they looked good. However, #5 didn't screw in flush, but it was solid, so I left it as is. Screw #6 was lost in the abyss when I tried to put it back in. I hope to find it and have better luck next time I change the filter. This change will certainly give your back a workout! Props to all the previous posters itt! |

Yeah. #6 looked like it would have gone back flush if I hadn't dropped it out of reach (without disassembling everything again). #5 just never looked like the holes were lining up 100%. To be honest, I was relieved that #7 lined up well.

Thanks for this thread. I'm almost due for a micro-filter change. I'm not overly handy but I think I can manage this one.

Did mine today after 45k miles! Like 2-3 weeks ago I started to get a weird powdery smell when using the A/C... past few days it kept getting worse. It was so dirty! Even had a good amount of dead bugs in it! Started it up 2 different times and drove around, no smell! I used the Fram CF10140 charcoal with baking soda. It was a little bit of a tight fit but worked fine and was much thicker than the stock Nissan filter I pulled out!

Thanks to this wonderful thread I was able to do it myself.
Everything was as described and fairly easy even for us older folks who do not do it yourself much anymore! |

For a 2014 370Z the CF10743 is the wrong filter, it's too large. You can force fit it, but run the risk of breaking the tab on the cover. The size of filter in actual dimensions is 7-3/4" x 8-1/4" x 3/4".

same thing I went through with the ram I traded in for my z only difference is, I had to cut out where the door was supposed to go. had to buy door and filter. never seems to amaze me the prices of vehicles go up and up and you get less and less for your money.

Thanks for all that had inputs, videos and pics. After only 10k miles I was surprised how dirty it was (view pic). I used CAF1906P from Autozone. The original price is $19 but googled free coupons gave me free shipping which saved me $7 on top of it.
I'm not sure if the door is supposed to be open all the way (from right to left) but I heard a snap and think the left side broke thus the door was off completely. But no issues closing it back on. I had issue with screw #3. The hole was so loose that the screw fell right off. I didn't want to undo everything so I left the screw in the car glove compartment. Oh and the reason I changed it is because Nissan told me I needed to change both cabin air filter ($100) and engine air filter ($55) when I did maintenance service. The price sounded ridiculous so I said no. In the end all of it cost me $26 at Autozone and I'm pretty sure a 10 year old can change the engine air filter if they YouTube it.
