Let us know if these fit well. I just put a filter in yesterday and it cost me about three times that much. This would be a lot better as long as it fits well. |

So, I did mine today after being in the car for seven years now!
I removed all the screws as shown in this thread, and then pulled on the glove box - and the whole assembly came out.... Really was easy, then look what I found when I opened the filter box door.. Thanks Nissan! Someone was in a hurry and didnt get it installed correctly. Ohhh and the replacement filter was $7.87 from Oreilly's. Thanks for the DIY! |

Make sure the clips that the screws go into are in the right position. This can cause headaches if not |
Yeah I tried checking even just screwing It into the little plate it goes into with the whole glove box encasing out but it wouldn't even go in lol

I got it out back together but not happy with it cuz the screws aren't flush in a couple spots. But I don't think it'll fall out it feels good. Just annoying I'll have to work on it again another time.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2017...518845d9dd.jpg kinda hard to tell but 6 isn't in all the way although it won't move anywhere

Did mine today after acquiring a long screwdriver to reach screws #5-7. This thread was a huge help as was this YouTube video that I found that I don't think has been linked here. It is for a G37, but very, very similar.
The first time I tried putting the assembly back in none of the 5-7 holes lined up. I re-tried it and they looked good. However, #5 didn't screw in flush, but it was solid, so I left it as is. Screw #6 was lost in the abyss when I tried to put it back in. I hope to find it and have better luck next time I change the filter. This change will certainly give your back a workout! Props to all the previous posters itt! |
dat dont sound right. ive done dis 3-4 times and everything goes back flush including all da screws..

Just replaced mine too lol. Now it has 10 euro cents on the left side, since my left tab broke too :rofl2: If I even sell the car it will be x price + 10 cents :happydance:

Thanks for this thread. I'm almost due for a micro-filter change. I'm not overly handy but I think I can manage this one.

Did mine today after 45k miles! Like 2-3 weeks ago I started to get a weird powdery smell when using the A/C... past few days it kept getting worse. It was so dirty! Even had a good amount of dead bugs in it! :barf: Started it up 2 different times and drove around, no smell! I used the Fram CF10140 charcoal with baking soda. It was a little bit of a tight fit but worked fine and was much thicker than the stock Nissan filter I pulled out! |
Around 23k miles:

Thanks for the DIY I would have never seen that screw #6

Thank You for the Info:tiphat:

Thanks to this wonderful thread I was able to do it myself.
Everything was as described and fairly easy even for us older folks who do not do it yourself much anymore! |
Well I used to wake the mornin' before the rooster crowed searchin' for soda bottles to get myself some dough brought 'em down to the corner down to the country store cash 'em in and give my money to a man named Curtis Lowe :)

same thing I went through with the ram I traded in for my z only difference is, I had to cut out where the door was supposed to go. had to buy door and filter. never seems to amaze me the prices of vehicles go up and up and you get less and less for your money.

Thanks for all that had inputs, videos and pics. After only 10k miles I was surprised how dirty it was (view pic). I used CAF1906P from Autozone. The original price is $19 but googled free coupons gave me free shipping which saved me $7 on top of it.
I'm not sure if the door is supposed to be open all the way (from right to left) but I heard a snap and think the left side broke thus the door was off completely. But no issues closing it back on. I had issue with screw #3. The hole was so loose that the screw fell right off. I didn't want to undo everything so I left the screw in the car glove compartment. Oh and the reason I changed it is because Nissan told me I needed to change both cabin air filter ($100) and engine air filter ($55) when I did maintenance service. The price sounded ridiculous so I said no. In the end all of it cost me $26 at Autozone and I'm pretty sure a 10 year old can change the engine air filter if they YouTube it. |
Can anyone post the best/most up to date instructions for removing the glove box and installing the in cabin air filter? I have the Nissan oem B7277-1ea0b in my possession.

Instructions haven’t changed since the beginning of this thread.

So it has been a little frustrating for me, the screw #6; I hate that one, it has fallen somewhere in the back of the glovebox assembly and although I can hear the screw rattle, I cannot seem to be able to take it out, plus I am not sure if I have broken some of the screw holding structure (U-nuts?), I am wondering if I need to remove the electric cabling to get the screw out and if I need something else to put the screw back in, would a magnetic long screwdriver and some U nuts be enough to get this done?

@bettyz thanks a lot!
So, I was able to locate the "FSM" at https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/us...-database.html, assuming that is what you meant, I am unable to locate the specific document for the glovebox removal, searching online, it appears that I might just be able to disconnect the cables and get it fully out and then reconnect them after I get the lost screw from behind the assembly? What do you think? |
