I just installed the 6000k bulbs from JW Motoring. The first picture is a side by side, left side is the 6k installed and the right is the stock bulbs. The final is the end results. Hope it helps. Just gives you that slight tint of blue! Very good company to deal with and super fast shipping. Bought all my interior LEDs from them as well.

Thanks a lot. Looks great!
For anyone wondering we sent jameeljoker (post 104 and 105) a new bulb. I believe he has it installed and is happy with it

Did anyone ever find a bulb that worked every time? W/ no problematic misfiring or anything? Is the morimotor bulb good?

I bought a set of Morimoto bulbs; the right side would fire up for a second then go out. Repeatedly turning my light off and on did not make em work. Ultimately I returned them. I emailed the company to get a replacement set but was told the "Matsushita ballasts your car has are unfortunately notoriously finicky when used with any aftermarket bulbs regardless of quality" and that only OEM bulbs will work.
But others on here seem to have better luck than I did with aftermarket bulbs. |

I just ordered what I thought were quality (Phillips) lamps in 5000k. I was VERY frustrated to find they ignite for a second then turn off. I guess it's a common problem with these cars and ballasts. I'm looking for a quality replacement in 5000K.

Philips DS2 HID bulb 6000K #85122 WX
I've just been disappointed, too.
I ordered the Philips 85122 WX 6000K from Philipsxenon and installed one bulb on the right side. I have to switch the light on/off for 6-10x before the Philips will stay lit. As if it needs to be conditioned. Once it's warmed up I can switch off/on and it won't flicker. But once cooled down again I have to repeat the 6-10x switch procedure to make it stay on Really thought this quality bulb would work. The bulb clearly ignites . It's the stay-on condition. Maybe our ballasts are little bit low on that 85V "on-voltage" or something. The color is absolutely amazing though. 370ZStock 4300K HID --vs-- Philips 6000K #85122WX 370ZStock 4300K HID --vs-- Philips 6000K #85122WX 370ZStock 4300K HID --vs-- Philips 6000K #85122WX Last edited by V1H; 03-26-2014 at 01:11 PM. |

After playing around with "quality" aftermarket bulbs, and having problems with em, I decided to bite the bullet and get some Osram Cool Blue Intense (CBI). They work as expected and they better for damn near $200
They are advertised as 5000K or 5500K (cant remember). To me they are Pure White, with no yellow, and a very slight tinge of blue. I do wish they were a little bit more blue, but overall I'm happy with em because they actually work! |

What brand are you guys using for the parking light led's? I know part number 194 works and I have a set of led's in there now but they always blink and flash on and off.

370Z ballast
I have just removed the head light from my 2013 370Z and pulled the ballast. It says Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. EANA26F 12907 and looks like this:
Note, this is also known as Matsushita Gen V or VI D2S Ballast Now, if somebody could confirm this really is a different ballast to the -2009 models then we know it's probably the ballast's fault why most HID bulbs don't fire up. I believe a Gen IV D2S ballast ought to look like this(?) If only I had a circuit diagram I'm sure I could modify it so that our ballasts work more broadly Last edited by V1H; 04-01-2014 at 03:02 PM. |

Digging up a very old thread here but after reading around and not wanting to screw myself over with having to wait on shipping etc I found the Osram CBI seemed most reliable.
Since I'm in Australia, 2 week shipping time is a killer if anything goes wrong. I have a 2014 370Z and the CBIs work perfectly. As ghost_ix says, it's clear white and noticeably brighter than stock/random 6000K HIDs. I bought cheapo $20 6000K HIDs for my last car and although the colour was nice the light output wasn't much better than stock. These CBIs are definitely the way to go if you care about light output. They're advertised as 5500K and are $185 from TRS: D2S: Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI - HID Bulbs - Components I might look at uploading some photos but unfortunately photos don't really capture the whiteness. I managed to swap both bulbs out without removing wheels, I did have my girlfriend helping by holding the plastic guard back though, if you do this, just be careful it's not putting too much stress on the front bumper as it will bend it. |

non-working headlights
All of a sudden my headlights do not go on. I looked high and low for a fuse [in the three obvious fuse-holders] and no 'headlight' fuse seems to exist. I would like to diagnose the problem or listen to anyone who may have the same problem. Could 2 headlights go bad at the same time?
