Oil presure advice, 15 psi at idle
2009 Z with 55,000 mi. On a hot day the oil is running 210 degrees, oil pressure at idle is 15 PSI, getting 42 psi at 2000 rpm, so it is just in spec.
Prosport 150 psi gauge tee'd in at the oil sensor. 5w40 Valvoline full syn (Euro spec) oil, std size Fram ultra filter. I am assuming it needs galley gaskets but was planning to drive it over the summer, keeping a close eye on the pressure and make the gaskets a winter project. I hate the idea of having to pull the radiator, alternator, AC compressor, pwr steering pump .... Actually replacing the gaskets, I am not so concerned about. Any experience/thoughts on waiting to replace the gaskets would be appreciated |
