Replacing 370z driver-side door regulator

1 Attachment(s)
Hey:

So I'm replacing my driver side doors regulator ( as the locks go all Christine locking and unlocking when powered). So I've gotten the indoor door panel off and need to remove the interior panel to get at the regulator, and there seems to be two rivets that I need to remove in addition to the 12mm bolts.

See the pic of the rivet I'm talking about.

So, is there a tool that I could buy to remove the rivets or is there some trick to getting them out without drilling them out? A link to a tool would be great!

Thanks,
Mike

I never had to remove the rivets. After lowering the regulator to unscrew and release the window glass, you have to raise it back up a bit so the assembly is no longer behind the inner door structure. The whole thing pops right out after that.

It sounds like you don't need to mess with those based on your task. But if you do need to get behind that panel, most people just drill out the rivets :twocents:

Thanks for the feedback. I'm also going to replace the driver side actuator that controls the locking/unlocking....so it looks like after lowering the regulator, unscrewing it, release the glass, raising it up again, ..that should give me access to the door actuator as well - hopefully, without drilling out the rivets.
