DIY: How do I remove these lower red inserts?

I've looked for days on a number of fourms and I had no luck. I was hoping for some pictures or link to a thread of how to safetly remove these trim without snapping any clips.

I'm assuming you can remove them as I've seen them for sale separately on several websites.
