Good price for Nissan Ester Oil
For those of us using Nissan Ester Oil:
$9.99/Qt Nissan Ester Oil 5W30. Specifically designed for the new 3.7 liter VQ engines. |
Works out to $11.70 shipped each for 6 quarts. Nice find, thanks!
|
Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to use that type of oil on the 3.7L engine?! No one else processes/manufactures a similar product at a better price? Thanks for the info'.

A lot of enthusiasts step up to Red Line Oil for the 370Z. Also contains Ester, fully synthetic and something we use on our race cars.

Thanks, Josh! My 350 doesn't need it, right?!
|
There isn't the factory mandatory recommendation, as the 3.7L employs some newer valve technology, but it's a great thing for an engine, and I would recommend a full synthetic for maximum protection/viscosity.
It's cheap insurance, especially when older Z's are prone to oil consumption anyways.. Same thing with trans fluid, and especially some of the specialty oils like differential gear oil, etc. STILLEN : Browse Products |

My everday low price on the Nissan Ester oil is $9.59 per bottle! I have lots in stock!
Another option to the Redline Oils is the Motul 300V -- we use it on all of our race cars! Scott |

Assuming you're in Seattle according to your description:
6x9.59 plus 9.50 shipping -- $67.04 |
That is a good price. I was quoted by my local deelership of $9.59. Check with your local deeler and save the shipping cost. Sounds like the deelers are getting a lot of static on their price of the propiertary oil and dropping the price. If not then Fontana Nissan's price is a killer deal.
Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 and other synthetic oils work well on both of our370Z's. Your best friend is an used oil analysis. |
Dealers in this area are charging as high as $12.50/Qt :shakes head:

nissan downtown LA was $17 a quart!!!

Well its time for my 2nd oil change, the 1st one I had the dealeship do as they gave me a promotional for $30 but now Im buying the stuff and will have it done elsewhere. When I bought the oil filter the thing was only about the size of half a coke can, is that really how small our oil filter is? I thought it was a mistake and had the guy look it up again to make sure. Oh and do we need 5 or 6 qts?
