I know companies make aluminum splash under-tray. But don’t really feel like dishing out $200-300 + on something no one will ever see, will most likely get ruined quickly and

Anyone done a DIY metal under-tray?
I know companies make aluminum splash under-tray. But don’t really feel like dishing out $200-300 + on something no one will ever see, will most likely get ruined quickly and that I’m very confident I could make myself.
Has anyone cut out and drilled bolt holes in a sheet of aluminum/ light thin metal from say Lowe’s / Home Depot & made a DIY splash under-tray shroud?
