Side Markers *Always on Parked, Still Blink Also*
Hello, I'm looking to get some information the side markers of the 2017. I recently had a fairly bad door ding that demolished the side marker. So since I'm already replacing one assembly and the 2017s come without LEDs but are still wired for it (Thanks a lot Nissan...) I decided I might as well mod the replacements. I'm going to change the LEDs to blue. I then am going to make a new Harness to hook it to the parking light. My question is about allowing the turn signal wire to take precedence over the parking light and flash when the turn signal is on. I can't quite wrap my head around a way to do this.
If anyone can throw me the wiring diagrams for the side markers that would be great. Any and all help would be appreciated. If I can successfully do this I'm going to create a DIY. Honestly the parking is easy. I just need help on allowing the flasher to work too. I know I could search but I like conversation that I created with my context. Thank you for any and all help! |
I’m currently responding from my phone, but you should be able to google “2017 370Z FSM”. The NICO link is the one that has all the 370Z FSMs. You can download the whole service manual for free for future reference.
Should be able to find the wire diagram there. Good luck! |
Wiring diagrams, harness routing, etc, are in the FSM. Link in my sig. If 2017 FSM is not there, see ZontheRocks' post above.
When switching from incandescent to LED lamps, you may need to include a resistor in parallel with the LED. Otherwise, BCM may think lamp is burnt out. |

Oops, that doesn't allow the turn signals to work also.^^^^^^

sounds like you need a bosch DPDT relay 5 post. wiring the relay to run current constant on one post, but if the other engages click over and use that source of power. Might even want a secondary blinker relay to allow slow response of power switch, otherwise you will click from lit because parking, directly to lit because blink and back = end result, no blink
Disclaimer: enjoying vodka cranberry and i *think* i read that right - open to "that's not how that works challenge" lol I'm just a smart "idea guy" smarter than me people make it actually work edit: might be able to reverse switch expectation on NO/NC and use a ground flip, so when parking line has constantly lit, blinker signal will cause an "outage" of power - this will mean the side lamp will blink alternate your front and tail turn lamp, but should work. and yes, switch to LED WILL require a resistor in-line for the power lines. so your parking lamp power would have to be tuned down to LED capacity. however above notion i suggested would simply "turn off" power to lamp, so no resistor need on that side |
